"I live in the woods of Mendocino County. The beauty here sometimes makes me weep...How lucky I am to live here. Since childhood, I've made art to celebrate what I love. Not to imitate, but to honor.
The stained skull of a woodrat and the upturned roots of the ancient oak overburdened by snow are as magnificent as a scattering of yellow fawn lilies. My work is mostly representational but without the static moment of the photograph. Subjects are allowed to evolve. I'm learning to appreciate the gifts of all nature's cycles and to see change as endless possibility." |
