"I live in the woods of Mendocino County. "Bennett" - acrylic & oil paintingThe beauty here sometimes makes me weep...How lucky I am to live here. Since childhood, I've made art to celebrate what I love. Not to imitate, but to honor.

The stained skull of a woodrat and the upturned roots of the ancient oak overburdened by snow are as magnificent as a scattering of yellow fawn lilies.

My work is mostly representational but without the static moment of the photograph. Subjects are allowed to evolve. "Looking Out" - painting Some areas in a painting are decisively detailed, while other parts are left to vague and shifting suggestion. As I see it, that's life.

I'm learning to appreciate the gifts of all nature's cycles and to see change as endless possibility."
