Marjo Wilson was bom and raised on a cattle ranch in Covelo, Califomia, ( a small town in Mendocino County. ) She has been drawing and painting the "ranch animals" and "ranch scenes" all her life.

In college, at Art Center in Pasadena, CA, she felt extremely challenged and intrigued by the world of abstract art: "When I was down in L.A, I was painting freeway landscapes and city streets, and being greatly influenced by abstract artists such as Richard Diebenkorn,Georgia O'Keeffe, Robert Rauschenberg, etc.."

She states, "At the time, I never thought I'd continue painting horses and cattle. However, in time, I realized that a good education pushes you into new and unknown territories and then after you leam some new concepts and try new things,you take those new ideas 'home' with you and apply them to what you do naturally.

So..., I guess it's really no wonder that I'm still painting cattle and horses, dogs and chickens,... barnyard scenes and country roads..."

Marjo lives in her home town of Covelo, out in a hay field in the middle of Nowhere...(and wouldn't trade it for the world!)
